What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical and stroke unit patients
• Monitor and manage patients with AFIB/RVR, DKA, COPD, CVA, TPA administration, post-surgical spinal protocols, and more
• Administer titratable IV medications such as Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, Levophed (approval required for some)
• Manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, CSF drains, and perform EKGs (pass competency exam required)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, PT/OT/ST, and support staff
• Chart patient information accurately using Meditech EMR system
• Support unit functions including phlebotomy and IV services as needed

What You Need

Required:

• Valid Louisiana RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in a hospital setting
• BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam
• Experience with IV titrations and complex patient management

Preferred:

• Experience with stroke, cardiac, or surgical patient populations
• Chest tube management, tracheostomy, or dialysis experience
