Lead Switchgear Production Tech

Lead Switchgear Production Tech is responsible for directing work efforts, guiding, monitoring, and leading a team or department under the direction of their manager. They motivate teammates, inspire positive communication, and work toward achieving production and safety goals. Responsibilities Carry out day-to-day tasks and duties within the department. Provide high visibility and access to employees on the shop floor, customer job sites, and throughout the shift. Communicate and collaborate with other team members; give out work assignments and schedule work as needed or assigned. Lead by example by following all department, company, customer, state, and federal laws and procedures. Ensure the team has necessary equipment and tools; schedule equipment maintenance as required. Complete specific reports, forms, and other information required by the department/division (e.g., customer reports, packing slips, proofs of delivery, safety forms). Participate in the interview process for new team members; mentor and coach technicians; audit performance quality and build training plans for direct reports; ensure staff is motivated and productive. Maintain customer relationships with internal customers, external customers, and vendors; conduct client communication in a highly customer service-oriented manner. Work with local leadership to implement continuous improvement strategic business initiatives; report any employee, team, WC, safety, or other concerns to manager in a timely manner. Be prepared for flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work to meet business needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications HS Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years related experience. Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA. Understanding of heavy industrial, utility, large commercial, renewable energy environments; ability to troubleshoot complex issues; knowledge of shipping, inventory, and site-specific procedures. Must be able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures. Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and out-of-town work if required. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and departments. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks. Customer-focused mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiencies. Valid driver’s license if the position requires a company vehicle. Travel: up to 5% of the time. Type: Full time. Compensation: $38 to $46 per hour. Relocation: None.
