Lead Switchgear Production Tech

Position Summary Lead Switchgear Production Tech is responsible for directing work efforts, guiding, monitoring, and leading a team or department. Under the direction of the manager, they are responsible for motivating teammates and promoting positive communication to achieve goals such as production and safety goals. Job Responsibilities Lead is responsible for carrying out day to day tasks and duties as other employees in the department. Maintain a high degree of visibility and access to employees on the shop floor, customer job sites, etc., throughout the shift. Communicate and collaborate with team members. Assign work and schedule tasks as needed. Lead by example by following all department, company, customer, state, and federal laws and procedures. Ensure the team has necessary equipment and tools; schedule equipment maintenance as required. Complete specific reports, forms and information required by department or division (e.g., customer reports, packing slips, proofs of delivery, safety forms). Participate in interview processes for new team members as needed. Mentor and coach technicians; audit performance quality and develop training plans; ensure staff is motivated and productive. Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and vendors; conduct client communications in a customer service‑oriented manner. Work with local leadership to implement continuous improvement initiatives; report employee, team, safety, or other concerns to the manager in a timely manner. Support flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work as needed to meet business needs. Other duties as assigned. Required Experience and Qualifications HS Diploma or GED and a minimum of 5 years related experience. Knowledge of industry standards such as NETA, NEC, OSHA, and NFPA. Thorough understanding of heavy industrial, utility, large commercial, renewable energy environments; ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Production and warehouse leads should understand shipping, inventory, site procedures and contacts. Must be able to work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures. Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Field leads must be available for out‑of‑town work. Strong written and oral communication; ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and departments. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks; customer focused.
