Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to the President of the Little Flower High School and the Director of Facilities at the Office of Catholic Education. This position oversees the operations of the school including building maintenance, grounds maintenance, and custodial services.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Essential Duties)

• Schedule and supervise maintenance workers in repair, installation, maintenance and alteration of buildings and physical plans.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and neatness in the school.
• Analyzes work orders; determines whether routine or major repairs are necessary; plans work methods and workflow; and assigns work to individuals.
• Schedule and supervise the maintenance requests as approved by the President.
• Performs all maintenance and custodial functions.
• Schedule and supervise preventive maintenance of the school.
• Keep records of repairs, needs, requisitions, time records, and work schedules.
• Schedule and supervise custodial staff and any contracted cleaning services in the performance of their duties.
• Responds to school emergencies after hours and/or weekends.
• Evaluate and purchase maintenance supplies, ground supplies, custodial supplies, and equipment as approved by the President.
• Maintain a safety program. Ensure safety rules and regulations.
• Confers and advises with the President and Director in preparing budget estimates for materials, equipment, supplies, personnel, and funds needed to operate the school.
• Counsels and supervises employees.
• Train and review actions of staff: make appropriate recommendations regarding such matters as selection, discipline.
• Assist in developing policies and procedures for the maintenance and custodial staff at the high school.
• Act upon leave request and maintain time report, leave records, sick day records, and vacation schedules in conjunction with the Office Manager in accordance with all procedures established by the President of the high school and Educational Financial Services.
• Public Safety Liaison.
• Must be able to perform light mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.
• Must be able to read gauges and meters that show pressures, temperatures, voltages, levels, quantities, etc.
• Must be able to monitor building equipment and systems such as boiler heating systems, air conditioning systems, electrical distribution panels, fire alarm panels, security, and surveillance systems.
• Must have good oral and written communications skills.
• Must be able to develop a manpower schedule, duty list, punch list etc.
• Negotiate terms as needed with service providers for best scope, price, and schedule.
• Manage bid/award process of a least (3) service providers.

This is a 12-month, full-time position.

The qualifications include a High School diploma including at least 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience in general maintenance.
