HDR has an excellent opportunity in the Georgia‑Alabama/Mississippi Water Business Group to lead the growth, control, direction, and quality of the area’s Pump Station and Pipelines Business Class. The Business Class Leader (BCL) is a professional versed in all aspects of Business Class services for pump stations and pipeline projects and leads a group of business‑class professionals. Responsibilities Plan, direct, and oversee all aspects of large‑scale multi‑discipline and multi‑benefit projects with a high degree of technical complexity. Build and maintain client relations and participate in project development and contract document preparation. Coordinate with disciplines such as structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, and GIS, and with HDR’s other regional and national businessclass technical leads and advisors. Participate in corporate management of the pump station and pipeline business class program, including technical and quality reviews of projects outside the geographic area. Lead and manage business class staff, ensuring technical competency, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of products and services. Engage in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client management, serving as project principal or PM as needed. Establish training programs, mentoring, and professional development for staff. Facilitate teamwork, communication, and knowledge sharing across area offices and business classes. Support growth objectives and manage workload and recruitment plans. Demonstrate a "can‑do" problem‑solving approach and strong client and team relationships. Perform additional duties as needed to meet business goals. Preferred Qualifications Proficient with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and SharePoint or equivalent. Minimum of 7 years’ experience leading projects and teams focused on pump stations and pipelines. Proven ability to manage projects and teams effectively. Experience managing budgets, preparing scopes, and developing cost estimates. Excellent written and oral communication and listening skills. Strong leadership, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and balance multiple projects. Knowledge of applicable industry standards, laws, policies, and procedures. Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills. Experience in contract development and implementation of capital improvements. Success‑oriented attitude and self‑starter who takes initiative. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a professional, architecture, engineering, or closely related field. 10 years of experience. Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values. Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience in the development and management of diverse teams. Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers. Active participant of HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
