Operations SupervisorTitle: Operations SupervisorLocation: Burlington, VTSalary Range: Starting wage is $36.83 per hourDescription and Essential FunctionsResponsible for providing supervision and supporting the daily operations for the fixed route service. Communicate consistent and accurate information to Bus Operators and the public. Ensure compliance with ADA and DOT regulations through regular and consistent daily observation and counsel.Supports Bus Operators, Dispatchers, and general passengersProvides feedback and training to Bus OperatorsProvides customer service through daily interaction with passengers, the community, and GMT's community partnersEnsures all work assignments and scheduled routes are performed in a timely and accurate mannerMonitors and manages Bus Operator compliance with route and schedule adherenceManages detours/road closures and other interruptions to transit service; implements detours as necessary and communicates with other staffMonitors on-time performance (OTP) and manages OTP digital integrityObserves and reports information to GMT Operations managementDrives transit bus in revenue service, non-revenue service, or as required by GMT management. Works in the Dispatch Office as requiredFacilitates and implements new bid schedulesConducts reasonable suspicion assessments as requiredResponds to accidents and incidents and documents per operating procedure. Conducts accident investigations when necessaryRecommends disciplinary action when Bus Operators violate company standards and legal regulationsMaintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulationsPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and Experience:An Associate's degree and a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a transit-related field is preferred.A thorough knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of the transit bus routes.A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements is required.A clean driving record and the ability to pass standard background checks, a DOT medical physical, and a pre-employment drug screen are required.Familiarity with transportation services and excellent customer service skills are beneficial.Essential Job Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
