Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Phlebotomist role based in Houston, TX. The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood collection and other specimen collection procedures in accordance with established safety and quality standards. Daily tasks include greeting patients, verifying identity and test orders, properly labeling and handling specimens, and preparing samples for transport to the laboratory. The role involves maintaining a clean, organized work area, using appropriate infection control practices, and operating collection equipment and basic laboratory tools. The Phlebotomist will collaborate with clinical and laboratory staff, provide clear information to patients, and ensure a professional, compassionate experience for every individual served. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Blood Collection skills, including venipuncture and capillary draws, with attention to patient comfort and safety. Candidates should possess Laboratory Skills related to specimen handling, processing, labeling, and adherence to quality and safety protocols. Candidates should possess Medical Assisting skills, such as patient intake, vital sign collection, and basic clinical support as needed. Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medicine relevant to diagnostic testing and clinical laboratory procedures. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited phlebotomy or medical assisting program preferred. Current phlebotomy certification (e.g., CPT or equivalent) strongly preferred; eligibility to obtain certification may be considered. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work respectfully with diverse patients and colleagues.
