Growing together.Position in this function is responsible for drawing blood on patients, performing necessary in-house testing, and preparing specimens sent to reference lab.Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PMLocation: 7640 NE Loop 820 North Richland Hills, TX 76180Primary Responsibilities:Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood productsPerforms venipuncture using vacutainer, syringe and butterfly techniques; capillary punctures using heel and finger stick techniques on patients. Identifies and labels specimensConducts designated laboratory testingInstructs patients on urine collection procedures. Allocates urine specimensCleans and sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work areaInventories supplies and places ordersEnters laboratory data into computer systemMaintains patient confidentialityData enters is accurate and timelyMonitors biohazard wasteEnsures preventive maintenance is performed on all equipment and monitorsResponses timely to abnormal and panic valuesMaintains knowledge of all routine container and minimum volumes required for specimen collectionRooming patientsAssisting with incoming and outgoing callsPoint of care testingPerforms all other related duties as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School GraduateCurrent National certification or registration as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist or the ability to obtain the certification within 180 days of employment1+ years of related experience6+ months of experience performing routine blood and urine tests6+ months of experience in equipment and testing to perform quality control checksBasic computer literacyPreferred Qualifications:CLA or ASCP Certified2+ years of experience in a medical settingPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
