Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include: A Linux Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing advanced Linux systems, including configurations, performance tuning, and hybrid/cloud integrations. They design and implement automation workflows using tools like Ansible or Python, enhance system security and compliance, and lead the resolution of high-priority incidents and complex technical issues. Additionally, they own critical projects such as infrastructure upgrades or migrations, mentor junior engineers, and ensure system reliability through disaster recovery planning and documentation standardization. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field

Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and their interaction with RHEL systems is also beneficial. Discipline Description In systems engineer roles, individuals focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems and infrastructure to support the operation and functionality of the organization's IT environments. Systems Engineers coordinate software application and database installation on server resources to ensure proper system setup and adherence to security standards. They are responsible for troubleshooting complex system wide issues involving all layers of the application and infrastructure stack and work with all other IT roles to ensure maximum system availability. Systems engineers install hardware, configure software, and deploy systems into production environments following best practices and industry standards. Systems Engineers are required to understand the technical design and implementation of all IT roles in order to develop system architecture to match business needs and maintain the availability of the environment.
