THE THERAPEUTIC SPECIALIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DEVELOPING AND CONDUCTING INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP THERAPY FOR PROGRAM PATIENTS.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide therapeutic services to patients in the partial program. Provide cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy focused, behavioral activation, interpersonal psychotherapy, and other group and individual therapeutic services to patients according to clinical standards of care and under the supervision of the clinical supervisor. Implement goals, objectives, and interventions as specified in the patient’s individual treatment plan. Use knowledge and skills to collect and review information regarding the patient’s status, identify individual specific needs, and provide interventions that are appropriate to the individual. Be knowledgeable in and practice trauma‑informed care. Develop behavior management plans/programs for all patients and follow through with implementing each program. Participate in training under the direction of the clinical program director. Consult with treatment team and family members as needed/requested. Participate in weekly supervision sessions with the clinical supervisor. Actively participate in the interdisciplinary team and attend patient staffings. Plan and develop programming. Research relevant topic areas, therapeutic strategies, and gather appropriate materials. Develop program materials; i.e., handouts, face sheets, manuals. Organize materials and adapt them to the age and developmental level of the group. Attend continuing education programs.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in the area of education or Human Services and a minimum of two (2) years work experience serving children with mental health disorders. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License preferred. May be required to have a driving record approved by Rogers Behavioral Health’s insurance carrier. Must pass pre‑employment background and drug screen. Must be fully vaccinated for COVID unless approved for a medical or religious exemption. Need to obtain SAC‑IT offered and paid for by RBH.
