Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll/Travel Divisions, ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations. Perform general accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations. Oversee preparation of the agency's annual GAAP Package and Internal Control Assessment as required by the Department of Finance and Administration.Develop agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with both State and Federal regulations and guidelines. Ensure compliance with the State of Mississippi's MAAPP Manual. What you'll need to be Successful A successful candidate would have education and experience in various aspects of accounting, auditing, and financial management systems; familiarity with MAAPP Manual, GASB, and state and federal laws, rules, and regulations related to managing state and federal resources; and ability to work through others to achieve outcomes while developing staff through knowledge transfer.
