Responsibilities 8 or more years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure systems by preventing unauthorized access and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to national security and foreign ownership restrictions. Create production databases and enter codes for utility programs to monitor database performance, such as distribution of records and available memory. Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to the database management system; review and correct programs. Answer user questions and work with coworkers to determine the impact of database changes on other systems and associated costs. Modify database programs to increase processing performance (performance tuning). Provide assistance in planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, ensuring that the conceptual and design phases of new applications are aligned with database environment parameters. Evaluate users’ requests for new data elements and systems, incorporate them into the shared data environment, and provide technical assistance. Coordinate data integrity and control redundancy; load databases and reorganize as needed. Perform data modeling and prototyping, including logical and physical data modeling. Execute security recovery procedures. Determine and implement database search strategies and storage requirements. Maintain the data dictionary, ensuring uniform definitions and setting standards for its use. Monitor database performance and recommend efficiency improvements. Create a test database environment for application sections, including necessary libraries and procedures. Execute procedures to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures following established procedures. Assist in determining, implementing, and enhancing database security standards and monitor agency disaster recovery procedures and systems. Assist with installation of database software and design, implementation, and analysis of databases. Assist in benchmarking and threshold testing of databases and establishing and controlling necessary database security. Assist in selecting database management software. Have working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies, ensuring UI for database administration and data output is compliant. Provide support to users in obtaining data or information when EIR Accessibility issues arise. Seek a Senior Operational Oracle DBA to ensure stability, patching, and scalability of critical database environments supporting multiple concurrent ERP implementations and upgrades. Design and execute database upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai, and maintain multiple environments supporting ETL activities. Possess hands‑on experience with Grid Infrastructure setup and maintenance, security vulnerability compliance, and performance tuning. Work outside standard business hours, depending on project activities. Work remotely; if hybrid, an in‑office schedule will be negotiated. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: 8+ years of experience Infrastructure management with Oracle 19c version or higher Grid infrastructure (ASM, Clusterware) High‑availability (GoldenGate, Active Data Guard) Advanced scripting (Linux, SQL) Preferred: 4+ years advanced scripting experience 2+ years experience working with a public sector organization (Federal, State, or Local Government) 2+ years experience working with a hosting vendor 2+ years experience working with Oracle PeopleSoft products #J-18808-Ljbffr Allied Consultants (Texas)
