City Manager – City of Rincon, GA City of Rincon, Georgia seeks a City Manager to guide a rapidly growing community toward sustainable, principled growth. The role requires a visionary, collaborative, and resilient leader to serve as the chief administrative officer and bridge between policy and execution. About the City Rincon is a proud community in Effingham County with about 13,000 residents. The city is experiencing significant growth, with potential annexation adding 4,000–5,000 residents. The city is funded primarily by Local Option Sales Taxes and utility revenues, with a FY 2026 budget of $27.3 M. About the Organization, Department & Position The City of Rincon operates under a Council‑Manager form of government. The City Manager reports directly to the Mayor and City Council and will provide strategic leadership, supervise 100 employees, and manage nine department heads. Responsibilities Administer all municipal functions, including day‑to‑day operations, purchasing, service contracts, and city finances. Supervise 100 staff members and provide direction, mentorship, and advocacy. Directly oversee nine department heads: HR Director, Planning and Development Director, Fire Chief, Police Chief, Public Works EOM, Recreation Director, Wastewater Director, Golf Clubhouse Director/Superintendent. Deliver clear metrics, bridge communication gaps, and promote long‑term operational stability. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or closely related field (master’s preferred). Five (5) years of progressively responsible municipal government management experience. Valid Georgia driver’s license, successful background check and drug screening. ICMA credentialed manager preferred. Residency within Rincon city limits or Effingham County required. Salary and Benefits Salary range: $128,413.10 – $218,302.27, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
