Job Description
TITLE
MDS Nurse - Skilled Nursing

SCHEDULE
Days, 8-hr (08:30-17:00)

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS
- Education: BSN required
- License: NC state nursing license required
- Experience: Minimum 3 years required
- MDS: Current MDS experience within the last 3 years required
- Certifications: BLS required
- EMR: Experience with Epic required

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform MDS assessments and complete CAAs, along with baseline care plans and care plan meetings.
- Validate submissions of assessments and oversee cert/recert processes.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and proper diagnosis coding for admissions.
- Conduct prior authorization/pre-cert reviews and assist with discharge planning.
- Participate in utilization review to ensure accuracy for UB04 submissions.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- No call requirement; no weekend requirement.
- Orientation includes hospital orientation in the first week, followed by ~24 hours of unit orientation.
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed).
- Background checks and drug screens are required.
- Scrubs: Navy blue; scrubs not provided.
