Registered Nurse - Hematology / Oncology

No call, float, or weekend requirements. Clinic Focus This opportunity is for a clinic specializing in classical hematology, focusing on conditions such as bleeding disorders, hemophilia, anemias, sickle cell, and DVTs. The clinic does not handle malignant hematology or oncology cases. Candidates will most likely not work with the malignant hematology population. Requirements and Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience, with consideration given to those with acute oncology/hematology experience. First‑time travelers are welcome. Local candidates are accepted. Certification in BCLS is required. Preferred certifications include ONS, BMTCN, and OCN. Skills Rooming patients Performing phlebotomy Central line care Assisting with bone marrow biopsies Vaccinations EKG Phone triage Scheduling for infusions Patient education Case management Job Details Average daily census: 70 patients. Contract length: 13 weeks. Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The clinic is closed on major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Martin Luther King Day. Patient Diagnoses The patient population consists of adults with benign hematology diagnoses, as malignant cases are handled by a different clinic. Special Procedures and Unit Details Procedures include bone marrow biopsies, manual differentials, triage, phlebotomy, central line access, patient education, and assessment. Manual differentials are performed by lab personnel, not RNs. Special Equipment RNs are required to bring their own stethoscope. Additional Information Patient group: Adults. System used: EPIC.
