About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS preferred; ACLS or PALS preferred; CRRN certification preferred Must-Have: - BLS - Rehabilitation documentation knowledge preferred Description: The unit consists of 16 beds with approximately 20 staff members. Staffing on day shift includes one charge nurse and one to two other RNs. Staffing on night shift includes one point person and one to two other RNs. There is one LPN on each shift if at full capacity with 15 or 16 patients. One PCT is on each shift if at full capacity. The unit does not have a PIC. Equipment used includes Welch Allens. Documentation is done using EMR - Meditech. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts with rotation every third weekend. The floating policy applies to any medical floor. Patient experience requirements include knowledge of rehabilitation documentation, which is preferred. Advanced skills required include ACLS or PALS. A basic dysthymia class is a nice to have. Procedures performed on the unit include treatment for post-stroke patients, surgical patients (neuro or ortho), and medical patients requiring increased therapy. Unit guidelines and policies should be reviewed for specifics. The unit has received an award for distinction in 2021. The average years of experience among staff is around 20 years. There is engaged leadership and ample resources for inpatient rehabilitation services. The unit promotes a team atmosphere.
