The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year. The Material Handler position has the capability of operating forklifts, cranes and other mechanical material handling equipment. Other areas could be crate/production assembly.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide customer responsive and efficient manufacturing support activitiesComplete work assignments and customer orders safely, accurately, timely and without damage Assist co-workers and customersInspect materials, products, machinery, tools and equipmentAssist with inventory management activities including daily updates to the ERP systemMaintain a clean and orderly work environmentMaintaining a steady flow of materials and resources to production workstationsAssist in the movement of inventory within and among workstations and areasComply with all safety requirements and use applicable personal protective equipmentQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDA minimum of (1) one year of related work experience in a manufacturing environmentMust be able to become certified to operate a forklift vehicle, overhead crane, yard mule and side loadersAbility to work in a non-temperature- controlled environmentExperience with side forklift, bander, nail gun, overhead crane, saws, stretch wrap machine, and various pneumatic equipment preferred, not requiredAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waistGood attitude and team orientedValid Driver's LicenseAdditional InformationSite Address: 7301 Fairview Street, Houston, TX 77041This is a position with potential overtime.
