What We’re Doing

Our team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.

The Work

C2BMC is a dynamic and exciting program in the Missile Defense and Space mission areas. C2BMC has had a long history of providing solutions to the Missile Defense Agency and continues to be contracted to provide new and innovative solutions to both of these missions. Candidate will be part of an integrated architecture & systems engineering team, on a multi-company teammate program, tasked with defining the operational, physical, functional, and technical architecture necessary to describe the vision and desired capabilities of an evolving C2BMC effort. Candidate will be part of the team that is architecting missile defense command and control and battle management systems in an environment that leverages existing or COTS/GOTS components with DoD interoperability in mind. Candidate will participate in analyzing high level needs and through a structured and logical approach. Candidate will be responsible for creating System Architecture solutions and concepts for a variety of new and emerging capabilities for the C2BMC system in collaboration with other Architects including lead Systems Architect, software architects, network architect, cyber architect. etc. Communicates and collaborates on System Architecture solutions with other teams such as software developers, networks engineers, cyber engineers, DevSecOps teams, infrastructure teams, test teams, and deployment teams. This includes both physical architecture as well as logical architectures across the System. Additionally. Candidate will interface with project leads, product owners, and MDA customer. Candidate will present architecture concepts to a large variety of audiences and serve as the focal point for the System Architecture for the Capability for the development, test and deployment efforts. Candidate will present at internal and external design reviews. Candidate may assist in documenting or reviewing architectures in a MBSE tool such as CAMEO. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design methodologies, in the area of DoD Command and Control and COTS/FOSS information technology products.

-The role will involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.

Basic Qualifications:

•A final secret clearance is required for consideration.

•Systems Engineering/Architecture experience.

•Experience in creating new System Architecture concepts and solutions.

•Information Technology / Computer Science / Software / Network related work experience on an integrated team working with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions for a DoD Program.

•C2BMC or similar complex DoD Command and Control (C2) System experience.

Desired Skills:

•Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

•Experience producing tooling and products to assist the with the analysis or assessment of a system or project is desired preferably in java and python languages

•Experience with DevOps related tooling (Jenkins, HTCondor, GitLab, etc) is desired

•Experience with performing systems engineering for DoD Information Systems is desirable

•Experience with creating and briefing chart packages for tooling or analysis performed

•Test Experience is a desired skill, on a DoD Program.

•Excellent communication skills and be able to present technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers.

•Experience as Technical Lead Systems Engineering SME or Systems Engineering technical leader in the Missile Defense, Space, or Link 16 Domain.

Ability to Work Remotely:

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $118,700 - $209,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
