As a health promotion and prevention office, we educate, advocate, support and promote individual and community health and well-being. Through partnerships with other campus departments, community agencies, student organizations, and peer mentors we use evidence informed public health strategies to foster an environment that creates, emphasizes, and supports healthy choices and positive decision making regarding health, safety, and wellness. Position Summary
The Program Assistant provides BASICS substance use screening services to Carolina students referred by Student Conduct, Housing & Res Life, or local Courts Deferral Programs.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Management Preferences
* Previous experience working in BASICS screening.
* Broad knowledge of substance use, college student development, and Motivational Interviewing.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to move up to 25 lbs. of programming supplies with or without accommodation.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
