POSITION SUMMARY: Dispatchers are responsible for scheduling and dispatching Rocky Mountain Health Care Services (RMHCS) drivers on a daily/weekly basis. Coordination of client transport and delivery of other equipment, goods and personnel for RMHCS as deemed necessary.MISSION: Improving lives, Optimizing wellness, Promoting independenceCOMPETENCIES:Technical ExpertiseProblem SolvingTeamworkEffective CommunicationResults OrientedPersonal CredibilityQuality FocusPeople FocusFlexibilityRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Schedule and dispatch Drivers and service vehicles to appropriate locations according to participant need and company specifications using radios, computer or telephones ensuring fair and equitable assignmentsKeeps scheduling software up to date with current data and participant information ensuring software meets the needs of the departmentData report extrapolation to provide to management, customers or programs as neededRelay messages and information to or from Drivers and RMHCS points of contact ensuring clear and concise communicationConfer with Supervisor and Transportation personnel in order to address questions, problems and requests for service or equipment ensuring supervisor is informed of any supervision, or staffing issuesWorks with Supervisor to review manifest and determine types or amounts of vehicles and personnel required. Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to better coordinate service and schedulesAdvise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions and other hazardsConsiders the impact of the decisions on other departments and the company as a whole, while demonstrating effective partnership management skillsMust maintain detailed notes and documentationServes as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team and attends daily IDT meetingsDispatchers are required to participate in 24 hour on call weekly rotation, which requires staff to answer the phone 24/7 and be available to provide emergent afterhours transportation as neededOther duties as requested/assignedHigh school diploma or equivalentTwo years of transportation or logistics experience as a Driver or Driver/Coordinator or administrative experience, preferably in a Transportation DepartmentMust have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact clearly and effectively with both internal and external customersOne year of experience working with the frail, elderly population is preferredSkilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co-workers, vendors, medical staff, and the publicMust be able to multitask and have effective record keeping skillsMust be knowledgeable in computer applications and softwareKnowledge of principles, practices, and of safety requirements pertaining to the Transportation industryAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionWe strive to provide our employees with a comprehensive and affordable benefits package including Medical and Prescription Drug, Dental, Vision Care, Wellness Program, Telemedicine Program, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Account, Company Paid Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Company Paid Long-Term Disability, Voluntary Life Insurance, Voluntary Short-Term Disability, Accidental Injury Insurance, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, 403(b) Savings Plan, Legal Shield and IDShield, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Paid Time-Off plan.
