Job Title: Anesthesia Technologist

Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: Variable Shifts (Alternating Days & Evenings)

• 5x8-hour shifts
• Weekend rotation and on-call required
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week

• Local Candidates: $1,520/week (approx. $38/hour)
• Travel Candidates: $2,000/week (approx. $50/hour)

The Anesthesia Technologist is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures. This role supports anesthesia providers across all areas where general anesthesia is administered and plays a critical role in ensuring efficient workflow, patient safety, and adherence to infection control standards.

• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
• Perform operating room setup and turnover, including room preparation for invasive cases
• Assist anesthesia providers with procedures such as arterial line placements, central venous catheters (CVC), and thermodilution catheter insertions
• Troubleshoot anesthesia machines across multiple makes and models
• Apply aseptic and sterile techniques during tray setup and procedures
• Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining anesthesia carts and supplies
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure efficient workflow and patient care
• Follow infection control policies and safety protocols
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program (preferred)

• National ASATT Certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required prior to start)

• Minimum 2 years of experience required (3–5 years preferred)
• Experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred
• Experience with acute cardiac cases preferred
• Proficiency with central lines, arterial lines (A-lines), and Swan-Ganz catheters preferred
• Strong knowledge of reprocessing methods, aseptic and sterile techniques
• Ability to troubleshoot anesthesia equipment effectively
• Ability to assist with invasive procedures
• Must pass pre-employment health clearance

• Variable shift schedule with weekend and on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract assignment
• High-acuity clinical environment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required
