Title: Staff Accountant or Assistant Controller

 

Status: Salary - Full Time - Exempt

 

Supervisor: Controller

 

Job Summary: Ensuring all accounting practices are following legal guidelines.

and adhering to established accounting principles. Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies.

Identifying solutions to discrepancies in financial records.

Preparation of customer billings, follow up on collections and posting to ledgers. Prepare daily bank deposits. Reconciliation of bank accounts. Prepare monthly reports and reconciliations. Perform research and analysis for special projects. Preparation of payroll and commissions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Review Accounts Receivable Aging Reports throughout the month to ensure timely collection of amounts due the company. Assist with monthly reconciliation and journal entries. Preparation of payroll, commissions and payroll journal entries. Frequently interface with employees, government entities, and private companies to resolve issues and obtain or provide requested information. Prepare monthly reports and reconciliations as assigned. Perform research and analysis for special projects. Perform other assignments as required by management.

Must be able to meet deadlines.

 

Qualifications: Required: Associate degree in accounting or finance.

At least two years of related experience, moving industry experience , and including computer literacy. Must be proficient in Excel and other window-based systems.

Skills: Well organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills in English. Highly organized with keen attention to detail and self-motivated. Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving. Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs (Dynamics) including Excel and Word. Collaboration and teamwork skills.

Work Environment: Majority of job in office setting with extended sitting and utilization of computer terminal. Minimal travel required. Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs), walking, stooping, kneeling, seeing, hearing, and bending required with or without reasonable accommodations.
