Microbiology Technician

Microbiologist – Salt Lake City Location: Salt Lake City, UT (US Only) Company: Merieux Nutrisciences . Your Day to Day As a Microbiologist, your mission is to test samples using various microbiological analyses, ensuring laboratory procedures meet quality guidelines and serving as a technical resource for method and process implementation. Key Responsibilities Follow appropriate methods and SOPs, maintaining quality control records. Record data in the Laboratory Information Management System. Perform rapid test methods and confirmation tests to identify bacterial strains. Prepare and weigh samples, pour agar, pipette solutions, and maintain sample tracking. Analyze data, produce client reports, and correct any discrepancies. Support root‑cause analysis investigations and suggest corrective actions. Assist with inventory management and the cleaning schedule. Perform preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Update equipment records on forms or software systems. Adhere to all safety policies and laboratory protocols. Support laboratory management in implementing, maintaining, and improving the management system. Perform other related tasks as needed. Qualifications Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience. 2 years of experience in microbiology testing. Basic knowledge of microbiology, basic chemistry, and food science. Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems. Analytical, physical dexterity, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work evenings, weekends, Saturday & Sunday. Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and practices. Compensation Package Hourly: $21.00 – $24.00 USD.
