Job Title Banking Business Operations Specialist Location Pensacola, FL Type 6 mo Contract, extension possible Contractor Work Model Hybrid – 3 days onsite and 2 days remote Hours 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Responsibilities Provide operational support that directly affects the business unit functions. Complete and/or monitor internal processes and perform quality control to ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and industry practices. Identify, research, and document operational correlations; administer operational workflow and functions. Detect errors and initiate or arrange for corrective action; follow through with cognizant parties to ensure resolution. Assist management or analysts with developing and recommending enhancements to improve operational processes and procedures. Assist in the development of user requirements; test new/enhanced systems and assist in training staff. Act as the business unit point‑of‑contact for cross‑organization matters; resolve/or oversee resolution of customer issues. Develop and apply a sound understanding of the business unit’s functions and their relationship to those of other business units. Serve as a backup to other staff members during peak business volume. Assist management and/or analysts in compiling, reviewing, and preparing data for the analysis of operations, services, and products. Research, gather, and synthesize data; present conclusions and recommendations to management. Prepare summaries, analyses, reports, charts, graphs, instructions, memoranda, and manuals/reference materials for benchmarking purposes or for inclusion in required and ad hoc reports. Review studies, reports, and surveys and provide summaries to department leadership. Support projects and initiatives within the business unit and/or across the organization. Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of new and existing programs, campaigns, and special offers. Administer project plans, coordinate the collection of input from functional areas, and assist in the execution of related activities. Research audit findings, prepare responses, and forward to management. Participate in the review of instructions, policy/procedural documents, and study/survey responses. Maintain knowledge of corporate business plans, marketing efforts, and operational/business requirements. Work under general supervision and follow standard course of action, with limited discretion, to achieve results and/or improve efficiency. May adapt or modify standard processes, procedures, etc.; offer suggestions and recommendations for operations, with limited impact. Perform directed research; identify and gather data; prepare standard reports for analysis. Participate in projects and typically receive guidance and instructions from management. Qualifications Ability to follow and interpret instructions and procedures to accomplish assignments. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Progressively responsible experience that demonstrates knowledge, understanding, and application of operational support skills, methods, and procedures, preferably in a financial institution.
