Plant ManagerPosition OverviewThe Plant Manager leads all aspects of a manufacturing facility to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality products on time and within cost targets. This role is responsible for driving production performance, implementing continuous improvement (Lean and Six Sigma) initiatives, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance, and managing inventory and demand fulfillment through effective use of systems such as SAP. The Plant Manager builds and mentors a high-performing team while monitoring KPIs and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to meet customer requirements and corporate objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead daily operations of the plant, including production planning, scheduling, and execution to meet demand and delivery targets.Ensure safety and environmental compliance by maintaining a culture of safety, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring adherence to OSHA and company policies.Own product quality and regulatory compliance, coordinating quality assurance and regulatory activities, managing corrective actions, and supporting external audits (e.g., FDA, ISO) as applicable.Manage inventory, materials flow, and warehouse processes to optimize working capital and support demand fulfillment using SAP and related systems.Drive continuous improvement programs using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve throughput, and lower costs.Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, quality, safety, and cost; implement corrective plans to achieve targets.Lead, develop, and coach plant supervisors and hourly staff; recruit talent, manage performance, and foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture.Develop and manage the plant budget, capital projects, and cost control efforts to ensure financial performance targets are met.Coordinate maintenance and reliability programs to maximize equipment uptime and plan preventive maintenance activities.Partner with supply chain, engineering, quality, and commercial teams to resolve production constraints, support new product introductions, and implement process changes.Ensure regulatory documentation and record-keeping are accurate and maintained to support inspections and audits.Implement and enforce standard work, SOPs, and best practices to maintain consistency and continuous improvement across shifts.QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.8+ years of manufacturing operations experience with increasing responsibility; prior experience as a Plant Manager or Operations Manager strongly preferred.Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools; certification (Green/Black Belt) preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of quality systems and regulatory environments relevant to the industry (e.g., ISO, FDA); experience leading audits and corrective actions.Strong understanding and hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, including production, inventory, and materials modules.Proven track record of meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost KPIs in a manufacturing environment.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with experience mentoring supervisors and managing union or non-union workforces.Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.Experience managing budgets, capital projects, and driving cost improvement programs.Ability to work cross-functionally, prioritize multiple initiatives, and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Benefits- Competitive Salaries - Medical, Dental, Vision - 401(k) Plan- PTO & Holidays - Short and Long Term Disability - Career Growth - Much more!
