For more information about the benefits offered at CSN, please click the link Job Summary The position of Coordinator, Salary Administration is assigned to the Human Resources Department and works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Salary Administration. The Coordinator performs a crucial role in a variety of confidential, administrative, and clerical tasks to support the overall operations of the Human Resources Department. Under the direction of the Assistant Director – Salary Administration, this position is responsible for coordinating routine and day-to-day Salary Administration functions. This position serves as the subject matter expert for CSN and NSHE Payroll policies and processes, leave and time off for all employee types, personnel transactions, employment eligibility and requirements, personnel file creation, retention, and maintenance, Workday processes and HCM testing, CBA policies, hiring and termination policies and procedures, compensation schedules and salary changes, CSN, NSHE, State, and Federal policies and procedures and coordinates the arrangement and application of these practices, policies, and procedures among the Salary Administration team. The primary responsibilities for this position are to effectively coordinate and execute the full employment cycle, from hire to termination, as well as all salary and personnel related transactions for all employee types – including Professional, Classified, Part-Time, and Contingent Workers/Volunteers. This includes coordinating within the HR department, amongst CSN departments, and amongst other NSHE Institutions as well as the Systems Office to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant transactions related to employment, compensation, salary, benefits, and other HR functions are completed. The coordinator will require the ability to work under minimal supervision, perform independent research, and have strong problem-solving skills. This position serves to keep CSN in compliance with Federal, State, NSHE, and Institution laws, policies, and procedures related to salary administration functions. The job duties for this position include collaborating, coordinating, and processing all aspects of Salary Administration. At the direction of the Assistant Director, this position coordinates and supports procedures with Salary Administration Senior Specialists, other HR departments such as Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, and CAPE, and also coordinates the execution of business processes with other CSN Departments, such as Budget Services, Controller’s Office, Office of Technology Services, Academic Affairs, Student Services, etc. Assists with preparing for and facilitating New Employee Hires and Orientations, Personnel Transactions, Salary and Compensation changes, Employee Terminations, etc., and advise on correct procedures and best practices based on employment type and situation. Performs administrative support work to include verifying, compiling, and recording statistical and narrative information for the preparation of reports and records, utilizes word processing and spreadsheet software; prepares correspondence, records and reports based on data obtained from a variety of sources. This position will be the backup for Assistant Director of Salary Administration so this position exercises considerable independent decision making concerning all matters pertaining to Salary Administration. Additionally, this position provides backup expertise and coverage for matters pertaining to leave and employment benefits, such as Leave Without Pay, Catastrophic and Presidential Leave, New Hire Orientations, Retirement, etc.). Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and experience. Discipline in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related fields such as Psychology, Sociology, and Communications; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-4 years of experience in salary administration or a professional related field. Experience working with collective bargaining agreements. HRIS systems experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a community college or post-secondary institution. Experience working in an NSHE institution. Workday experience. The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Working knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources Management including Payroll, benefits, compensation and salary. Knowledge of NSHE and CSN policies, procedures, and applicable State and Federal statutes/regulations. Working knowledge of FLSA, USCIS form I-9 procedures and practices, and leave regulations. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Workday, and database and software programs to maintain data and generate reports. Ability to work well with a diverse workforce encompassing a variety of social styles, managerial styles, socioeconomic backgrounds, people from varied cultural backgrounds, and employees at all organization levels. Ability to work collaboratively with multiple constituents to develop and enhance internal and external institutional relationships. Ability to prioritize projects and establish timelines to meet stringent and changing deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization, and communication skills (oral, written and listening). Ability to develop policies, procedures, and practices to increase work efficiency. Coordinate phases of multiple projects through completion.
