Our mission is guided by our Strategic Principles and has three critical components; patient care, education and research that together enhance our contribution to society.Job SummaryThe Rogel Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Analyst Intermediate to support the development of a centralized analytics and reporting infrastructure aligned with National Institutes of Health (NIH) Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG) operations and leadership decision support.This position will serve as the primary analyst responsible for the integration, transformation, validation, and visualization of complex research administration and cancer center operational data across multiple institutional systems and platforms. The role will support the development of scalable reporting workflows, reusable transformation logic, and leadership-facing dashboards that enable timely, accurate, and actionable insight across the cancer center enterprise.The successful candidate will work closely with cancer center research administration, Health Information Technology Services (HITS), leadership stakeholders, and operational teams to support the transition from fragmented, manually assembled reporting toward a centralized, sustainable business intelligence environment. This includes supporting development of standardized reporting processes, dashboard-based visualizations, repeatable analytics workflows, and integrated reporting across cancer center operational domains.This position is embedded within a highly collaborative environment and will support operational, leadership, and federal reporting across areas including research funding, publications, membership, internal funding programs, shared resources, and other cancer center metrics.Responsibilities*Data Integration, Transformation, and Validation (40%):Develop and maintain reusable data transformation workflows, reporting logic, validation processes, and standardized reporting structures across institutional and external data sourcesAggregate, integrate, reconcile, and validate complex datasets related to cancer center operations, research administration, and leadership reportingApply structured attribution and transformation methodologies to institutional grant and funding data in support of CCSG and related reporting requirementsDevelop scalable workflows and structured datasets to support recurring reporting cycles, analytics platforms, and dashboard environmentsCollaborate with HITS and institutional data partners to:define data requirements and technical specificationssupport development of structured data extracts, reusable data views, and relational datasetsimprove scalability, consistency, and repeatability of reporting workflowsSupport development and maintenance of relational datasets and reporting environments, including systems such as Advarra EVALImplement and maintain data quality assurance processes to ensure consistency, integrity, and reproducibility across reporting environmentsDashboard Development and Reporting (25%):Design, develop, and maintain leadership-facing dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, Envisio, or similar business intelligence platformsTranslate complex operational and research data into clear, actionable visual reporting outputs for leadership, strategic planning, and operational decision-makingSupport longitudinal performance tracking, trend analysis, and visualization across cancer center operational domainsDevelop reusable reporting views and scalable dashboard infrastructure to support institutional reporting, external advisory board reviews, and presentation needsSupport sustainable dashboard refresh, maintenance, and validation workflowsCCSG and Cancer Center Metrics Production (20%):Produce and maintain standardized cancer center reporting datasets and metrics across domains including: research funding and grant attributionNCI/CCSG reporting tablespublications and publication reporting workflowsmembership and program alignmentpilot/internal funding outcomes and return-on-investment reportingshared resource utilization metricsCoordinate with operational leaders and subject matter experts to support consistent metric definitions, reporting standards, and governance practicesSupport implementation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and recurring reporting processesContribute to development of scalable reporting methodologies that reduce reliance on one-time manual data assemblySystems Coordination and Business Process Support (10%):Serve as a liaison between cancer center operational stakeholders, HITS, and institutional technical/data teams regarding analytics workflows, reporting priorities, and business requirementsAssist with optimization of operational workflows related to data intake, transformation, validation, reporting, and dashboard productionSupport implementation and operationalization of reporting tools, analytics platforms, and integrated reporting processesCollaborate with operational owners across publications, membership, pilot funding, grants administration, shared resources, and related functional areas to support coordinated reporting activities and data governance effortsSpecial Projects and Emerging Reporting Needs (5%)Required Qualifications*Bachelor's degree in data analytics, informatics, business intelligence, statistics, health administration, computer science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience3-5 years of relevant analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or data management experienceDemonstrated proficiency with SQL querying, relational datasets, reusable data transformation workflows, and structured reporting methodologiesExperience supporting/developing reporting workflows, validation processes, data transformation pipelines, and technical/process documentationExperience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Envisio, or similar toolsDemonstrated aptitude for learning complex reporting logic and business processesStrong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and operational teamsDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational stakeholders while managing multiple projectsDesired Qualifications*Experience in academic medicine, research administration, cancer center operations, healthcare analytics, or higher education analytics environmentsFamiliarity with NIH reporting structures, research administration reporting, or regulated reporting environmentsExperience working with institutional data systems, enterprise analytics platforms, and dashboard-driven reporting initiativesExperience with data governance, reporting standardization, SOP development, or analytics process improvement initiativesFamiliarity with publication reporting workflows, grant and funding
