POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and longevity. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC principles, excellent diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to safety and customer service

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have knowledge of and experience in maintenance or maintenance related field. Must be mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and receptive to complete task at hand. Must be in good physical condition to accomplish tasks & jobs such as climbing ladders and working on roof tops. Good driving record is essential.

Experience: Minimum of [3-5+] years of hands-on field experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and complex troubleshooting.

Licensing & Certifications:

Universal EPA Section 608 Certification (required).

Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of refrigeration cycles, low-voltage electrical schematics, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems, heat pumps, and building automation/smart thermostats.

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, strong verbal communication, and a professional, dependable demeanor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Employee must be in good physical condition to accomplish projects & jobs demands. Employee must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Various working conditions; both weather related, office environment and home environments involving HUD apartments.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including but not limited to, cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, lubricating moving parts, inspecting electrical connections, and replacing filters.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions, identifying root causes of issues.
• Conduct repairs and replacements of components such as motors, belts, thermostats, and sensors.
• Test HVAC systems after maintenance or repairs to ensure proper operation and performance.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding the status of their HVAC systems, recommended repairs, and maintenance schedules.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including EPA guidelines for refrigerant handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and tools.
• Provide exceptional customer service and represent the company in a professional manner.
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC maintenance.
• Assist with other maintenance -related urgent and non-urgent tasks when needed.

• Adheres to all applicable federal, state, local, and company-maintained standards of compliance, ethics, and policies concerned with the administration and delivery of agency services.
• Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency and department.
• Completes administrative functions and data entry timely and accurately.

SALARY RANGE: $30.00-$36.00 /HR
