Registered Nurse - PACU

Position Overview United Health Services is hiring Staff Registered Nurses for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at UHS Wilson Medical Center. This part‑time, evening position requires 24 hours per week in an 8‑hour shift schedule; weekend and holiday on‑call is required. The primary work shift is Evening, with adjustable staffing as needed. Compensation ranges from $40.70–$61.05 per hour based on experience. Essential Functions Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact. Educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS hospital policy. Shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies. Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices. Engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completes all mandatory education requirements. Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing school (required). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred). Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting (preferred). License and Certification Current New York State Registered Nurse License (required). CCRN certification preferred. Additional relevant certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by unit assignment (preferred).
