Job Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2–4+ years of management experience as a Culinary Manager, Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or Deli/Market Prepared Foods Manager.

• Culinary Mastery: Strong knife skills, thorough understanding of recipe execution, portion control, butchery/meat preparation, and appealing gourmet food presentation.

• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to train, mentor, schedule, and inspire a tight-knit culinary crew.

• Safety & Sanitation: Current ServSafe Manager certification (or ability to quickly obtain it); deep understanding of local health codes and food safety practices.

• Business Acumen: Experience managing kitchen food costs, vendor ordering, inventory counts, and labor control.

• Customer Focus: Friendly, approachable demeanor with a passion for talking food and answering questions for market guests.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations for this high-volume gourmet market as our dedicated Culinary Manager.

• Oversee scratch-cooking production of gourmet side dishes, entrées, grab-and-go selections, and custom catering orders.

• Maintain strict quality control, freshness standards, and pristine presentation in all prepared food display cases.

• Direct inventory management, weekly ordering, receiving, and waste reduction to protect kitchen profitability.

• Onboard, cross-train, and develop back-of-house staff in proper culinary technique, sanitation, and safety protocols.

• Partner with store leadership to maintain top-tier guest satisfaction across the entire Charlotte metro area market operation.

• Ensure full compliance with all local health department regulations and sanitation standards.
