Kindred Hospital San Antonio Central, empowered by ScionHealth is located inside Baptist Medical Center, is a long-term acute care (LTAC) hospital specializing in the treatment of patients recovering from post-intensive care and medically complex conditions. Our hospital provides both intensive care and telemetry-level services, offering advanced monitoring and support for patients requiring extended medical care. With a multidisciplinary team dedicated to personalized treatment plans, we focus on helping patients achieve significant recovery and transition to the next level of care. This location utilizes paper charting and an EMR/ordering system to communicate with Baptist. About the Role Responsible for the planning and implementation of the nutrition care of the patients in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations, clinical guidelines, and policies and procedures. Provides oversight in coordination with the Culinary Services Manager to ensure that safe and accurate food service is provided to the patients. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field Required Skills Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. License and/or certification from the State Licensing Board for Dietitians. Two years' experience in acute care hospital preferred. Registered dietitians awaiting approval of State licensure/certification may practice under a Provisional Licensure if the State Licensing board allows. Provision dietitians must have all documentation in a medical record co-signed by a state licensed dietitian. Experience in acute clinical care, nutrition support, parenteral nutrition, and tube feed regimens and education, transition diets. Preferred Skills Knowledge of nutrition support and parenteral nutrition. Ability to educate on tube feed regimens and transition diets.
