Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist

Part-Time Industrial Injury Prevention Specialist (Athletic Trainer) ActionOnsite is seeking a proactive and personable Injury Prevention Specialist to support employees at a warehouse and distribution facility in Fremont, California. This part-time position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys injury prevention, ergonomics, employee education, and working directly with industrial employees. Position Details Location: Fremont, CA Schedule: Approximately 24 hours per week across three shifts Two early-morning shifts and one midday shift each week Pay: $47–$53 per hour, based on credentials and relevant experience Qualifying early-morning hours will receive an additional shift differential Exact days and hours will be finalized based on site needs and clinician availability Occasional local travel to market locations is required What You’ll Do Provide onsite injury-prevention and early-intervention services within OSHA first aid guidelines Build positive relationships with employees, managers, and site leadership Perform floor observations and provide real-time ergonomic job coaching Educate employees on safe body mechanics, material handling, working power zones, fatigue reduction, and injury-prevention strategies Identify ergonomic risks and recommend practical improvements Conduct task and workstation assessments using tools such as REBA and RULA Lead pre-shift warm-ups, micro-break education, and health and wellness initiatives Occasionally travel to local market locations to conduct employee check-ins, ergonomic observations, job coaching, and injury-prevention support Document employee interactions, coaching activities, assessments, and follow-up services Provide site leadership with clear updates regarding trends, concerns, and recommended action items Qualifications and Requirements Certified Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or similarly qualified injury-prevention professional Current professional certification or license, when applicable Experience in industrial injury prevention, ergonomics, occupational health, rehabilitation, sports medicine, or a related setting is preferred Comfortable working independently in an active warehouse and distribution environment Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, managers, and safety leadership Availability to work two early-morning shifts and one midday shift each week Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to local market locations as needed Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance required when using a personal vehicle for work-related travel Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required Physical and Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand and walk throughout a warehouse or distribution environment for extended periods Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and observe employees performing physical job tasks Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds Comfortable working around warehouse equipment, operational noise, and changing environmental conditions Ability to follow all site-specific safety and personal protective equipment requirements Why Join ActionOnsite?
