Senior Data Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build authoritative data products supporting Army acquisition and program operations. This engineer will own data pipelines, models, and ontology. Responsibilities Own the architecture and implementation of scalable data pipelines and data products. Integrate and transform data from multiple Army and enterprise sources. Develop data models and ontology that support applications, reporting, and analysis. Design for data quality, lineage, security, observability, and long‑term maintainability. Establish engineering standards for testing, source control, deployment, and operations. Partner with software engineers, product designers, and customer stakeholders. Review technical designs, mentor engineers, and resolve complex data challenges. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Eight or more years of experience building production data systems. Strong proficiency with Python, SQL, and modern data‑engineering patterns. Experience designing data pipelines and products on enterprise data platforms. Experience with data modeling, ontology, data quality, and lineage. Strong software‑engineering fundamentals, including testing, source control, CI/CD, and monitoring. Experience supporting a Department of Defense customer.
