Job Description

Palette Hotels is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced General Manager to lead our hotel team. The ideal candidate will drive maximum profitability while cultivating top talent to deliver exceptional service and create unforgettable guest experiences, all with a focus on operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Budget Management: Collaborate on the development and management of operating budgets to ensure financial objectives are met.
• Quality Standards Maintenance: Uphold high standards for guestroom cleanliness, function room and public space setups, facility maintenance, service delivery, and employee performance. Conduct weekly inspections of at least 10 rooms to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Operations Analysis and Leadership: Regularly analyze hotel operations, meet with department heads to review performance, and implement suggestions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and mentor department heads. Communicate company policies, monitor their performance, delegate responsibilities, hold them accountable for meeting standards, and support their professional growth.
• Employee Relations: Successful onboarding and offboarding of employees. Work closely with department heads and staff to foster a positive work environment. Counsel employees when necessary and implement programs to boost morale and motivation. Delegate tasks effectively to maximize team productivity.
• Forecasting and Planning: Update forecast regularly and use that data to inform business decisions and control costs. Actively participate in and lead internal meetings focused on sales, forecasting, quality control, and safety to align team efforts with business goals.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit timely, comprehensive reports, including actionable strategies for operational improvements. Ensure compliance on safety and security reporting.
• Building Improvements and Maintenance: Manage proactive property maintenance to ensure upkeep. Annually prepare and submit a prioritized list of required capital improvements for the property.
• Staffing and Payroll Management: Analyze work assignments to establish staffing guidelines, monitor payroll performance daily, and take corrective actions as needed. Approve and review overtime requests, ensure accurate employee records, and manage timely payroll submission.
• Expense Control: Monitor, review, and approve all hotel expenses to maintain budget compliance and financial efficiency.
• Safety and Sanitation: Conduct regular property inspections and implement measures to ensure guest and employee safety, preventing risks related to fire, injury, or unsanitary conditions.
• Market Analysis: Gather and analyze competitive rate information to maintain a strategic market position.
• Policy and Brand Compliance: Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and brand standards to maintain consistency and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Representation: Capable of positively representing the hotel, the company, and the brand to guests and the community, embodying its values and commitment to excellence.
• Operational Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of all operational phases of the hotel, with specialized expertise in budgeting, accounting, sales procedures, and personnel management, including the ability to effectively select, develop, and motivate staff.
• Materials and Inventory Management: Directly or indirectly oversee all products, inventory, and consumables, ensuring their preparation and use align with the hotel's cost objectives.
• Products and Facilities Oversight: Managed product inventory, consumables, and equipment maintenance, ensuring all hotel assets, including building infrastructure and furnishings, met operational standards and efficiency requirements.
• Financial Accountability: Directly and indirectly manage all revenue streams, accounts receivable, and enforcement of cash handling procedures to ensure financial integrity and profitability.
• Service Standards: Uphold impeccable service standards and expectations, translating them into actionable, positive guidance for the hotel team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Leadership Excellence: Demonstrated ability to build and lead a cohesive team, aligning individual and group efforts with strategic goals to drive business success. Must inspire confidence, build trust, and foster collaboration among team members, industry partners, competitors, and owners.
• Exceptional Communication Skills: Proficient in conveying information and ideas clearly across various media, engaging audiences, and fostering understanding and retention. Skilled at building trust and openness with customers and internal partners.
• Innovative Mindset: Forward-thinking, adaptable, and creative in responding proactively to a dynamic and diverse environment.
• Team Culture and Engagement: Strengthen team cohesion and engagement by fostering a positive workplace culture through hands-on leadership and proactive interaction.

• Former Hotel General Manager with 2 years of experience.
