The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects. Position Summary Temporary, Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 5/31/2027 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance). Salary $4,800.00-$5,600.00 per month. Location CSUSB Campus, and Rialto, Apple Valley, Morongo Valley sites. Work Schedule 40 hours per week. Typically, 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday. Some nights and weekends may be required. First Review Deadline This position will remain open until filled. Typical Activities Under minimal supervision of the Director of First Star Academy, the Program Coordinator will work independently to: Design, coordinate, and implement college and career readiness programming for high school-aged youth. Provide specialized outreach and engagement for youth who have experienced adversity, including foster care and/or homelessness. Develop engaging workshops and educational activities focused on the following topics: College Readiness Financial Aid and Scholarships Career Exploration and Planning Leadership development Program Coordinator Self-Advocacy and Communication Skills Independent Living Skills Social Emotional Learning Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, materials, presenters, transportation, and participant support. Evaluate programming and make continuous improvements based on participant feedback and outcomes. Outreach and Recruitment Develop and implement outreach strategies to recruit eligible youth into program activities. Build relationships with school districts, child welfare agencies, foster youth organizations, and community partners to increase program awareness. Conduct presentations and informational sessions for students, caregivers, school personnel, and community stakeholders. Maintain regular communication with prospective and current participants. Partnership Development Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with: School District Administrators Teachers and Counselors Foster and Homeless Youth Liaisons Local Community Colleges and Universities Community-based Organizations Workforce Development Agencies Coordinate services with partner organizations to ensure participants receive comprehensive support. Represent the program at community meetings, conferences, and collaborative events. Student Support Build positive, trusting relationships with youth through a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. Provide individualized guidance regarding college and career planning. Connect participants with campus and community resources that promote academic and personal success. Encourage student engagement, leadership, and persistence toward educational goals. Data Collection and Program Evaluation Collect, maintain, and analyze program participation and outcome data. Track performance indicators, including recruitment, attendance, retention, educational outcomes, and participant satisfaction. Prepare reports that demonstrate program effectiveness and impact. Typical Working Conditions Work is performed in a variety of settings, including office environments, high school campuses, classrooms, community-based locations, and indoor and outdoor event spaces. Regular local travel is required between assigned school sites, community partner locations, meetings, and program events. Work involves frequent interaction with high school-aged students, school administrators and staff, parents/guardians, community partners, and members of the public. The position may require a flexible work schedule to accommodate school schedules, student programming, meetings, outreach activities, and community events, including occasional weekends. Ability to travel to schools, program sites, and community events as required. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly travel between school sites, community locations, and program events. Ability to move throughout school campuses and community event locations, including indoor and outdoor environments. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move program materials, supplies, and equipment. Ability to set up and break down program materials, informational tables, displays, and other equipment for presentations and events. Ability to operate standard office and presentation equipment, including computers, projectors, and other program-related technology. Ability to perform duties in a variety of environments, including offices, classrooms, school campuses, and indoor and outdoor community event settings. Experience: 2 years of work experience in an educational setting. Other: Applicants must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Canva. Applicants must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information, along with the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of people, exercise sound judgement, determine priorities, complete assigned projects in a timely manner and work well under tight deadlines. Special Requirements: Must successfully complete required background check and Live Scan. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience in a K-12 and/or higher education setting. Demonstrated experience working with youth with adverse experiences, including foster care and/or homelessness.
