Paraprofessionals work under the direction of classroom teachers and school administrators to provide instructional, academic, behavioral, and supervision support to students in individual, small-group, and classroom settings. This position helps reinforce teacher-led instruction, supports positive student behavior, assists with classroom routines, and contributes to a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, patient, and committed to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This individual should be able to build positive relationships with students, work collaboratively with teachers and staff, and support the mission and values of Career Success Schools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with classroom instruction, student activities, and daily classroom routines.

  • Provide academic support to students individually or in small groups.

  • Reinforce lessons, directions, and instructional activities as assigned by the teacher.

  • Support students with completing assignments, staying on task, and participating in learning activities.

  • Assist with classroom management and the implementation of positive behavior supports.

  • Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities as assigned.

  • Support students with diverse learning needs while maintaining dignity, respect, and confidentiality.

  • Assist with preparing instructional materials, organizing classroom supplies, and maintaining a clean and orderly learning environment.

  • Monitor student behavior and report concerns to the teacher or administrator.

  • Maintain professional and appropriate boundaries with students at all times.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and school staff to support student achievement and schoolwide expectations.

  • Follow all school policies, procedures, safety protocols, and confidentiality requirements.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Valid Arizona Driver's License required.

  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and school leadership.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively in a school setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or completion of at least 60 college credit hours.

  • Paraprofessional certification or Highly Qualified status.

  • Prior experience working with children or students in a school, youth program, or related setting.

  • Experience supporting students with academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position requires the ability to work in a school environment, including standing, walking, bending, sitting, supervising students, and assisting with classroom and school activities throughout the day. The employee may be required to lift or carry instructional materials and perform duties in classrooms, hallways, outdoor areas, and other school settings.

Equal Employment Opportunity

Career Success Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to maintaining a workplace and learning environment free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

By submitting an application or accepting an offer of employment, applicants authorize Career Success Schools to obtain and review information related to their background, which may include, but is not limited to, criminal history records, employment verification, education verification, professional licensure, motor vehicle records (when applicable), and fingerprint clearance through the appropriate state and federal agencies.

Employment with Career Success Schools is contingent upon the successful completion of all required background checks and verification processes. Information obtained through background checks will be reviewed in a manner consistent with applicable laws and will be used solely for employment-related purposes. All information will be kept confidential and handled with appropriate care.

Career Success Schools is committed to fair and equitable hiring practices. A criminal history record, in and of itself, does not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment. Each situation will be reviewed individually, taking into consideration the nature of the offense, the time elapsed, and its relevance to the position sought.
