Medical Records Technician

Duties
Help
Responsible for registering new patients, correcting registration errors and submitting trouble tickets to resolve connectivity issues.
Reviews and analyzes medical records to ensure that the necessary components of the medical record are present, complete, and filed in proper sequence.
Determines that the recorded diagnosis is substantiated by sufficient data and written in sequence of events within the record.
Releases PII in response to inquiries from medical providers, patients, their authorized representatives, and other parties such as law firms, insurance companies, etc.
Must determine the validity of each request and provide the proper and accurate PII forms, compose letters in response to inquiries as needed.
