Machinist (2nd Shift)

A technologically advanced powertrain manufacturing facility that produces high-quality diesel engines and transmissions. Role summary / purpose 2nd Shift Machinist position to support high-volume production through the operation of CNC and PLC-controlled machinery to produce precision, high-quality components. These are full-time positions with consistent hours, competitive pay, and growth opportunities. Ideal candidates have experience in automation or CNC machine operation, and excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities Operate and monitor CNC/PLC equipment to meet control plan requirements Troubleshoot alarms, faults, and perform minor repairs to maintain production Record defects, rework, and scrap per nonconformance procedures Monitor tooling wear and perform tool changes to ensure quality Partner with team members on process improvements and error-proofing Train and certify machine technicians to quality and performance standards Review work instructions and control plans; upscale deviations as needed Enter production and quality data and review digital performance metrics Verify gage calibration and monitor critical characteristics Proactively assess equipment to minimize downtime Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards; maintain a clean work area Requirements - education & experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent At least 3 years of machining experience (CNC experience) Required skills Legally authorized to work in the United States on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) Willing to work any shift Ability to achieve an acceptable score on a situational/skills based interview Physical capability to walk, sit, stand, lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 pounds, perform head/neck movement, and reach outward or above the shoulder for up to 10 hours per shift Ability to work in environments with constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces Nice-to-have / preferred skills Positive attitude and alignment with company values Technical College certificate in Machine Tool Technology or similar discipline Experience working in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment Customer-focused and results-driven mindset Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, and GD&T Experience operating production machinery What we offer - salary & benefits This position offers competitive hourly pay along with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee wellbeing.
