Behavioral Health Technician - Crisis

Salary Range: $20.39 – $22.60 per hour Lifeline Connections is a community‑based behavioral health organization that provides confidential and compassionate care to individuals with substance use and mental health conditions.

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Behavioral Technology Technician delivers counseling, case management, and specialized interventions in the Involuntary Treatment Program, aiming to stabilize adults and older adults experiencing acute behavioral health crises.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the care, safety, and supervision of residents in the therapeutic milieu through positive interactions and proactive supervision. Provide individualized care that addresses each resident’s needs and strengths, using limit‑setting and de‑escalation techniques. Monitor, implement, and support the milieu/program schedule. Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior; observe clients according to assigned levels. Facilitate the treatment plan provided by the team, offering day‑to‑day support and participating as a team member. Plan and conduct therapeutic groups as scheduled by the program. Collaborate with the treatment team, clients, parents, caregivers, outside professionals, and coworkers. Attend all training, education, and staff enrichment activities; remain familiar with Lifeline’s philosophy, mission, and objectives. Work with patients to meet goals on individual service plans, advocating for their rights and needs. Assist with admission processes, including orientation to staff, facility tour, explanation of rights, grievance procedures, program schedule, and community agreements. Support participants with hygiene and clean‑up using proper infection control procedures. Store and manage personal property. Partner with each participant to maintain a recovery environment, performing room checks and safety checks while documenting findings. Manage risky behaviors and complete required documentation. Enforce contraband policy. Collaborate with participants and the treatment team on discharge planning, ensuring community resources and family support are involved. Maintain complete and up‑to‑date clinical files documenting all services and contacts in accordance with WAC 246‑341. Initiate and complete incident reports according to agency policy. Support and implement agency policies and procedures. Maintain a positive, solution‑focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems. Network within the community to identify outside agencies and services that meet clients’ needs. Participate in verbal de‑escalation and interventions during emergent situations and assist other team members as needed to keep the environment safe and secure. Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
