Data Ops Analyst

One of the largest technology companies in the Bay Area is seeking a Data Operations Analyst to support a centralized creative organization that contributes to products used by billions of people worldwide. This team partners closely with product, engineering, and creative teams to deliver innovative experiences across mobile, wearable, virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality platforms.As a Data Operations Analyst, you will maintain the data pipelines, metadata systems, and reporting infrastructure the organization relies on to measure performance and business impact. This is not a software engineering role, but it requires comfort working with code, investigating technical issues, and troubleshooting systems built by others.The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of independently solving complex data challenges. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and maintain scheduled data pipelines, identifying and resolving failures and upstream issues such as schema changes, storage limitations, privacy compliance requirements, and data retention policies.Build, modify, and extend data pipelines and tables to support evolving reporting and analytics needs.Manage data access requests from end to end, including preparing written business justifications, coordinating with legal and privacy stakeholders, securing approvals, and driving requests through completion.Serve as a steward of organizational data by maintaining awareness of data ownership, usage, and access requirements across teams.Review, evaluate, and approve incoming data access requests based on business needs and compliance requirements.Partner with stakeholders early in project lifecycles to ensure appropriate data access is established before work begins.Own the configuration, quality, and governance of metadata associated with a large-scale content library, including testing, auditing, and validation of metadata changes.Maintain the accuracy of existing dashboards and reporting solutions as upstream systems evolve.Investigate and resolve reported data discrepancies and reporting issues.Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting processes, operational procedures, and key decisions to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing.Required SkillsData AnalysisData OperationsData Pipeline Monitoring and MaintenanceMetadata ManagementReporting and Dashboard SupportTroubleshooting and Root Cause AnalysisStakeholder CommunicationDocumentation and Process ManagementQualificationsExperience supporting and maintaining data pipelines in a production environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex data issues independently.Experience working with structured datasets, metadata, reporting systems, and data governance processes.Comfortable reviewing and troubleshooting code when diagnosing system and pipeline issues.Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in ambiguous environments.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Experience working with privacy, compliance, access management, or data governance processes is highly preferred.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Menlo Park, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
