Physical Education Teacher, Elementary School (EX)(2026-2027)- St. Mary's School Elementary School, Annapolis MD

St. Mary’s Elementary School , located in Annapolis, Maryland , is seeking a full-time Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic school year .

The Physical Education Teacher will provide elementary school students with a comprehensive educational and physical development experience through the implementation of the Archdiocesan and State of Maryland Physical Education curricula . The successful candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that fosters an understanding of healthy body function, physical fitness, exercise, sportsmanship, and lifelong wellness.

The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering age-appropriate physical education instruction, promoting physical activity, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices, and ensuring student safety during all physical education activities. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop confidence, teamwork, and a commitment to personal fitness.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, 10-month teaching position with a regular work schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Essential Functions

• Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
• Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
• Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
• Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, in a timely manner.
• Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
• Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
• Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
• Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification, required.
• Classroom teaching experience preferred.
• Proficient in using a variety of technology.

Pay Range: $47,692 – 84,556, Annualized
