Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Perioperative/PACU Registered Nurse (RN), providing compassionate and expert care to patients in a dynamic surgical environment. This role involves direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical expertise, and adhering to professional nursing ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to established safety protocols including infection prevention, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to maintain a secure care environment.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care encompassing medication administration, nursing interventions, and patient and family education.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance quality, and ensure safety, while providing accurate information to the healthcare team.
• Document all patient care activities and quality monitoring data efficiently to support compliance with core quality measures.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
• Delegate tasks appropriately, fostering teamwork and accountability within the care team.
• Adapt positively to healthcare dynamics and changes, supporting the organization's mission and values.
• Incorporate critical thinking into nursing practice and pursue ongoing education to develop skills and competencies.

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

At least one year of healthcare experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Current RN license in a Compact State or the state of Missouri.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Mental and Physical Demands

This position requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs, frequent walking, standing, turning, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases, as well as occasional encounters with hostile individuals. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
