Industrial Custodian

JOB PURPOSE

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly Industrial work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Facility Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, painting and vacuuming floors in production areas, warehouses.
• Waste Management: Gathering, emptying, and disposing of trash and hazardous waste materials.
• Industrial Maintenance: Operating heavy-duty equipment i.e. pallet jack, forklift floor scrubbers, polishers, and power washers.
• Safety & Security: Ensuring all areas are secure (locking doors), respond to spills, and follow OSHA safety procedures.
• Minor Repairs: Performing light maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs or repairing minor structural items.
• Exterior Housekeeping/Maintenance: Assisting with snow removal or cleaning grounds.
• All other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Safety Training: Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Communication: Ability to read instructions, report maintenance needs, and communicate with management.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
• Must have a driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of pallet jack and/or forklift certified a plus
• Ability to operate Zamboni

WORKING CONDITIONS

The job requires a person to work in conditions that include seasonal heat and cold; a high noise level, wearing required PPE were needed; heights; and dealing with chemicals.


Work Environment
• Settings: Manufacturing floors, factory, warehouses, or large distribution centers.
• Conditions: Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures may occur.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as operating machinery. Team members will be lifting/maneuvering objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly. Cleaning materials and chemicals used regularly.
