Registered Nurse (RN) - Corrections

Registered Nurse – Correctional Health

Contract Length: 26–52 weeks

Requirements:

• Active license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State
• BLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Conduct health assessments and develop nursing care plans for incarcerated individuals.
• Administer nursing treatments and procedures as needed.
• Provide health teaching, counseling, and case-finding services.
• Supervise and train nursing staff and direct care staff.
• Collaborate and consult with interdisciplinary treatment teams.

Compliance / Notes:

• Candidate must clear the state-run Criminal History Form before starting (can take up to 4 weeks).
• Valid state license required—no exceptions.
• Returning staff must be away from any New York State facility for 2 years.
