Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Location: Hudson, Ohio Company: Ascenso Tires North America About the Opportunity Ascenso Tires North America is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team at our North American headquarters in Hudson, Ohio. The Staff Accountant will support essential day-to-day accounting functions, with a primary focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit Management, and month-end closing. This position will work closely with the Accounting Team, colleagues and management, as well as customers, vendors, and auditors, while continuing to build accounting knowledge and experience. Key Responsibilities The Staff Accountant will support Accounts Payable by assisting with vendor invoice approvals and entering approved invoices into P21 after matching them with receiving records. The role will monitor open payables, investigate vendor payment issues, help ensure timely payment by check or Wire/ACH, and charge expenses to the appropriate general ledger accounts. The position will also support Accounts Receivable by monitoring open receivables, reconciling open account statements, and investigating issues with sales and customers to help facilitate payment. Additional responsibilities include supporting the credit management process and month-end closing activities; maintaining Accounting Department documentation and physical and digital records; participating in special projects and other assigned functions; and cross‑training to serve as a backup for other members of the Accounting Team. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred, along with one to three years of professional experience. Candidates should have experience with accounting terminology and procedures, along with experience working with ERP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, is required. The position also requires very good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
