Middle School Math Teacher (Metro Schools) ESC of Central Ohio Metro Early College High School – Columbus, Ohio Job Description Middle School Mathematics Teacher (Grades 7–12) responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instructional math content while working collaboratively with staff and students. Minimum Qualifications Integrated Mathematics License for grades 4–9, or ability to obtain licensure. Experience with middle‑school math instruction. Preferred Selection Criteria Experience with instructional differentiation based upon learning styles, interests, cultural heritage, and creative/intellectual potential. Excellent scores on Praxis content examinations. Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families. Experience with the formulation of curriculum that is standards‑based. Experience with ELL learners. Flexibility. Responsibilities and Essential Functions Provide services that implement the educational mission and follow all institutional policies of Metro Early College. Work collaboratively with other instructors to construct and maintain a high‑quality integrated learning environment. Utilize best practices for middle school math instruction. Collect, analyze, and utilize assessment data to identify students' immediate and long‑range needs, developing lesson plans for assignments and activities that extend student learning opportunities. Facilitate learning beyond the school day through office hours. Coach and counsel each student regarding academic and behavioral progress through Advisory. Adapt curriculum to a STEM/21st‑century learning environment. Show transparency and willingness to share best practices. Play multiple roles beyond the classroom, including student recruitment and admissions, new program development, communication with multiple districts, partnership development with outside organizations, and collaboration with other center initiatives.
