We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead core accounting operations for a growing organization in Kansas City, Kansas. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, guiding the close process, and supporting dependable payroll and reporting activities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to keep multiple priorities moving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Direct daily accounting activities to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Lead the month-end close by reviewing entries, reconciling accounts, and finalizing financial results.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance and monitor account activity to support complete and reliable reporting.
• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Administer payroll operations through Paychex and verify compliance with internal controls and applicable requirements.
• Review accounting workflows, resolve discrepancies, and implement improvements that strengthen efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insight, answer reporting questions, and support business decision-making.• 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Strong background in month-end close and general ledger oversight.
• Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting in a detail-oriented business environment.
• Working knowledge of Paychex payroll processing and payroll-related controls.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting and reconciliation.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple accounting priorities.
