Position Details
- Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing recognized assessment tools and your observational skills.
- Create customized treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on language, voice, fluency, and swallowing challenges.
- Collaboratively partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and families to enhance progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment process.
- Keep precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing learning and peer collaboration to stay current with advancements in the field.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days after hiring.
- Strong command of evidence-based treatment techniques for individuals of all ages, coupled with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with patients, their families, and the multi-disciplinary care team.
- Ability to modify therapy strategies to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment and effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable and proficient with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
