Pharmacy Technician

Assist pharmacists in preparing, distributing, and managing medications within a pharmacy setting. Ensure accurate, timely, and safe medication handling while supporting overall departmental operations and patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Fill medication orders accurately and promptly for dispensing and patient use.
• Prepare sterile IVs and other parenteral medications aseptically, following proper techniques and safety protocols.
• Manage automated dispensing machines by refilling, troubleshooting issues, and performing maintenance checks.
• Repackage oral medications, verify expiration dates, and maintain proper inventory control, including recalls and stock replenishments.
• Handle medication distribution requests via various communication channels and deliver medications efficiently across departments.
• Support team efforts by assisting colleagues, adhering to coverage guidelines, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current active registration with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy.
• Possess at least 2 years of previous hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in oncology or infusion centers.
• Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent credential preferred.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile techniques, IV preparation, and medication safety protocols.
• Exhibit excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Communicate effectively and demonstrate professionalism in patient and team interactions.
