Ultrasound Technologist

Shift Information: 12 hr Days

Pay Range: $29.10-45.70/hour (max), pay is based on years of experience and education.

New Starting Pay Rate – The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted based on current demand for this role. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $29.06/hour. All pay rates will be based on candidate's experience.

Required Education: AS

Required Related Experience: At least one year of experience

Required License/Registration/Certification: Registry Eligible

Physical Requirements

Requires heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 50 pounds. Also requires repetitive motion tasks.

Unit Information

This position will provide ultrasound imaging for the Department of Radiology in the emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings.

The sonographic exams the person filling this role will need to perform include but are not limited to: abdominal (including vasculature and transplants), pelvic, 1st trimester OB, small part, peripheral venous, and pediatric specific exams (i.e. pylorus, echoencephalogram, hips).

This person may also assist with US guided procedures and MSK imaging. This position requires maintaining current credentials (via ARDMS and/or ARRT and/or CCI) to ensure compliance with our ACR accreditation.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have extensive customer service experience and be able to communicate in a calm and helpful manner during stressful and/or crisis situations. PACS, RIS, Ultrasound Physics, Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology are also desired.

Facility Highlights

Opened in 1962, the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, a 569-bed acute care hospital, is part of the UK HealthCare patient care enterprise.

UK Chandler Hospital has Central and Eastern Kentucky's only Level I trauma center, and handles the most severe traumas. It has the only Level IV neonatal intensive care unit in the area to treat the sickest infants.

The hospital also offers 100 intensive care beds, a post-anesthesia care unit, 17 operating rooms, 14-bed labor and delivery, and 26 mother-baby rooms. The hospital draws upon the resources of six UK colleges: Medicine, Nursing, Health Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Public Health.
